Vostro Feedback

Last Tuesday, we announced a new lineup of Vostro laptops. Check out initial reviews on third party sites like PCMag, LaptopMag, and ComputerWorld. If there are other reviews that you have seen and think would be helpful for customers to read, feel free to comment below with a link to the site.

We placed pre-production units with a few of our small and medium business customers. This allows us to capture first hand feedback in order to implement changes into future product decisions. We targeted a mix of industries and company sizes. Pre-production units are sent to customers who use the product for 60 days, tell us what they think and then return it to Dell.

Kevin Jezewski, Assistant Director of Operations for Chicago Signature Service, tested the Vostro 1510 and gave us his initial feedback: “The new Vostro is equipped well and can handle almost all the applications in a small business. One of my biggest worries was how the Vista would hold up, but I have no problems with Vista. One problem I have is opening the laptop, very difficult.”

We are asking other previewers to blog about the systems in their own words so stay tuned!

It is awkward opening my Vostro 1510.  Also the sound is lacking.  There just is not much volume.  I am working on getting speakers to try to solve the sound problem.  I got my Vostro about 2 weeks ago.

Hi, I purchase a Dell Vostro 1500 because it supports mobile wireless broadband. Upon verfication with the sale representive from singapore side he say that this model does has it. With his kind information i purchase the laptop in april'08. To my horror when I brought this laptop to oversea for work it became basically useless to my needs. On returning to Singapore on August'08 I tried contacting Dell.sg the technical support told me to wait for the sale representive to call me back. And so the whole event took 4 days to settle. Unsatisfy with the answer that Dell.sg had given. Is it that Dell.sg does not own by Dell USA? that was the impression I got from the customer service - Jun Ling in sg. Dell have the customise your system for people to own a com that really suits their needs. Dell.sg won't order the WWAN card for me from Dell USA and instead that they offically ask me to purchase a WWAN from other companies and if anything goes wrong because of the WWAN card my whole laptop is void from the warranty which I paid for. Hope that Dell USA can give me a more satifactory answer to the problem that I faced.
