Channel Community Feedback

After our blog launch yesterday, we received kudos from several bloggers like Josh Clifford for breaking new ground and striving for more conversations around our PartnerDirect program. I agree with bloggers like Colin Steele and The VAR Guy that listening to the feedback from our channel community is part of it, but it’s our discipline and action on feedback that will determine how useful this blog is to our partners and community.

From our outreach and participation in the blogosphere, we understand the questions being raised about Dell and the resistance reflected in commentary like this from Stephen Burke’s original post. The bottom line is this is going to take some time, and Dell understands that we need to prove ourselves to many companies that are thinking about working with Dell in the future. It's also clear to me that this is a case where our actions will speak louder than words, especially at this point.

Hi Amie, will Dell roll out certified small business consultants - maybe in conjunction with Microsoft's small business specialists?

Ray,

SMB is a big focus for PartnerDirect.  We had already begun looking at ways to focus more attention on the SMB community internally and during our PAC event last week, we had several partners breakout and create a plan around the SMB space as well. The Partners along with Dell are in the first phase of reviewing the plan and asking for additional feedback so stay tuned for further updates and program developments.
